Residents of North Weald Bassett Parish, in the District of Epping Forest in West Essex, formed an embryo group in the Autumn of 2004, gathering local views on the proposed plans drawn up by the East of England to develop our surrounding greenbelt land and WW2 airfield.

From the strong feeling of opposition obtained, the Bassett Community Action Group was formed in January 2005, to establish the general feeling of the whole community and to assist where possible to an objection to the East of England development plan. BCAG are residents of the North Weald Bassett Parish, who were formed to establish the general feeling of the community and to assist where possible, with the objection to the East of England development plan.

To communicate activities surrounding the East of England proposals for our parish of North Weald Bassett, our site contains:

The Plan - details of the governments proposed changes and geographic area

The Issues - examples of how the plans could effect our living conditions

Objections - points forming the basis of the parish's objections

Useful links - to other parties and resources concerned with this matter

The deadline to submit objections against the proposed development plan, was 16th March 2005. Over 2,500 objections were collated from residents of North Weald and the surrounding parish.
